Our treatment philosophy is geared toward preventing future dental problems. We treat patients of ALL ages and we offer a broad range of treatment modalities, ranging from the most basic to the state of the art. Our comprehensive services include the following:
For healthy teeth and gums and the prevention of dental caries and oral disease.
Oral hygiene is the practice of keeping the mouth clean and healthy by brushing and

flossing to prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Prevent bad breath.
Anatomical crown: The upper enamel-covered part of a tooth.
Clinical crown: The portion of a tooth exposed beyond the gingiva.
Physiological crown: The part of a tooth occlusal to the gingival crevice or to the gum margin.
Artificial crown: A reproduction of a crown affixed to the remaining natural structure of a tooth.
•
Bridges
An appliance of one or more artificial teeth anchored by crowns on the adjacent teeth.
•
Porcelain Veneers
A veneer is a thin layer of restorative material affixed over a tooth surface, either to improve the appearance of a tooth, or to protect a damaged tooth surface. The two types of materials used in a veneer are either composite and porcelain. The composite veneer can be placed directly (constructed in the mouth), or indirectly fabricated by the dental office technician at a laboratory, whereas the porcelain veneer may only be indirectly fabricated in a lab.
•
Cosmetic Dentistry - Bonding
Cosmetic dentistry includes a variety of dental treatments designed to improve the appearance of the teeth using whitening, bonding, veneers, crowns, reshaping, or implants.
•
Sealants
Resinous material designed for application to the occlusal surfaces of posterior teeth to seal the surface irregularities and prevent further degeneration. Newer sealant contains fluoride for resistance of caries (a destructive process causing decalcification of the tooth enamel and leading to continued destruction of enamel and dentin, and cavitation of the tooth) in the tooth to which it is applied.
Tooth whitening is now a common and safe procedure in general dentistry but more specifically in the arena of cosmetic dentistry. Over time tooth darkening is due to changes in the mineral structure of the tooth, as the enamel becomes less porous. The tooth also becomes stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco. At Marina Vista Dental we consult our patients on various methods, risks, and costs associated with different options for whitening your teeth. Root Canal and Endodontic Therapy
Endodontic therapy is a series of treatments for the pulp of a tooth whose objective is the elimination of infection and protection of the decontaminated tooth from microbial invasion. Although this sequence of procedures is commonly referred to as a "root canal," this term is not really accurate. Without getting too technical, here's why: Root canals and the relative pulp chamber are the hollows within a tooth which are naturally inhabited by nerve tissue, blood vessels and many other cellular entities, whereas endodontic therapy includes the complete removal of all these structures, then subsequent cleaning, shaping and decontamination of these hollows with the use of tiny files and irrigating solutions and the obturation, or filling, of the decontaminated root canals with a special inert dental filling, such as gutta percha and a usually eugenol-based cement.
